Like I said yesterday, I have a craft expo and trunk show coming up in the next few weeks. It's been fun, but also a bit hectic, preparing for these upcoming events. One of the main things I wanted to have for these shows, were some solid mannequin displays. I have to give credit where credit is due and tell you that I found this wonderful idea via Light Gives Heat as well as my friend Kaitlin. When I worked with LGH, at the time, all product photos were taken on newsprint mannequins who I liked to call Adam and Eva. That idea was tucked away in my creative mind-drawers, but they were just body mannequins, not good for displaying hats. However, one day I was over at my friend Kaitlin's home and she had done a similar thing to a styrofoam mannequin head she had found at Hobby Lobby for $10.
I was thrilled and set to do the same. I needed a male head and a female head, so I took my time and went to Hobby Lobby two separate occasions so I could use my 40% off coupons for each item, making my purchases much more affordable. The rest is super simple and goes great with tea, a movie and an empty floor to spread out and make a mod-podge mess. All you need is a mannequin, mod podge, newsprint, and a paint brush. If you have never worked with mod-podge, simply brush on a layer of the glue, then place strips of paper on the the surface and coat the entire print with more mod-podge. For a nice even smooth coat, add one final layer of mod-podge to the completely covered mannequin! Allow for it to completely dry and then dress your mannequin to push some product! I'll be excited to see how they aid in my sales this weekend! Any suggestions on names for these two lovebirds? Yes, Dustin and I decided they are a married couple! They may or may not have even been caught kissing the other day! ♥, mK

This is great, I've always wanted to use Mod-Podge...seems like such a fun thing to use...
