DIY Candy Corn Tree

This past Friday, my mom and sister opened their home to a big family get-together. My mom had this great idea to make a candy corn tree. I thought it was a brilliant decor idea and thought you might enjoy it too!

To get started, gather together candy corn, strong branches, a pot or jar, glue and a glue gun. We  wanted our tree branches to stand up straighter, so we used a twisty-tie to pull the branches closer together inside the metal jug. You can choose to cover the twisty-ties with moss later if you'd like. Once your branches are ready to go, just take the hot glue gun and put a dot of glue onto each candy corn piece and attach it gently to the branches.

We had a little helper ready and waiting to give my mom and I candy corn as we glued each piece to the branches. He may or may not have also helped take care of the broken pieces. I cannot confirm this as his mom might be reading this post! When we were finished, we set up the candy corn tree on my mom's front porch. Because we chose to keep it outside, we sprayed it with bug spray to keep the bees away. Do be warned that bees love this piece of decor, so you will either want to use this indoors or spray it with repellent.

Quite festive, eh? Happy Fall! ♥, mK

  1. Adorable. I wonder about pest. I think our deer and our squirrel would also like it.
