Across the Universe Book Link-Up

It's already the end of the month, can you believe it? Crazy! Well, for those of you that joined myself and Kaylee, from All things Bright and Beautiful, this month in reading Across the Universe, it's time to link-up! What did you think of the book?

I personally enjoyed reading this book. It was entertaining and I gave it a 3 out of 5 stars on Goodreads. I will probably get around to reading the second and third one sometime in my lifetime - for the sake of completing a story! I love sci-fi, dystopian, adventure style books, so Across the Universe fit in fairly well to what I enjoy reading, despite the fact that it was 100% YA. I'll be honest, I am not the best at reviewing books. I can tell you if I enjoyed reading it or not, what spoke to me, what made me cry or laugh hysterically, but I am terrible at rating things. I mean, looking at my Goodreads account, it was kinda disturbing to me that I gave this book the same rating as my least favorite C.S.Lewis book. I'm a huge C.S. Lewis fan and even his "worse" book still blows this book out of the water, but like I said, I just don't know how to accurately rate books. Does anyone else have this problem? In other words...this is NOT a review...it's just my contribution to the link-up in the form of my thoughts on reading the book.

There was definitely a moment in the book, which I am sure most of you will agree, where I was like "This is about to get super weird!" But after sticking with it, I was pleasantly surprised at how it actually was pretty necessary to demonstrate how diluted the people had become. Oi, I would not want to be stuck on a space ship for that many years, especially when that is what life is! Yikes!

My favorite part of the book was that it made me think from a completely different perspective. What would it be like to wake up 250 years in the future? It sure was an interesting thought to explore. What was your favorite part?

Overall, I can appreciate a good adventure and for that it was a decent read! What did you think? Link up or comment below! ♥, mK
