Makeover for your Jeans
Last week, I decided I wanted some new shorts, but didn't want to go out and spend money. Thanks to that voice in the back of my head that tells me "You'll wear it someday again", I still had a few pair of pants from years and years ago. I love-hate you voice!!
First I took a pair of cargo shorts so old that I couldn't even find a photo of me wearing them in their original state. I love the way the waist line sits but hated the way the original hem laid right over my shins, accenting an area that I prefer to not so much accentuate. I did your basic cut and sew action to these camo cuties. I made sure to sew a hemline to keep them from fraying too much. These shorts are short...but I don't want them thaaaat short!
Next, I took the pair of jeans I am wearing from nearly three or so years ago in the photo above. My good friend, Inna, had a brilliant DIY that I kept in the back of my mind for such an occasion as this. You can check out her scalloped jeans DIY here! I really love the length on these shorts, comfortable and covered but not from your grandma's closet.
These shorts came at a perfect summer pick-me up time. No need to invest any more money in a soon to start closing season, but still enough newness to keep me going in the remaining months of hot! Here are some other fun ideas I ironically found on another blog today. What's your favorite summer style? ♥, mK
