“To love at all is to be vulnerable. Love anything, and your heart will certainly be wrung and possibly broken. If you want to make sure of keeping it intact, you must give your heart to no one, not even to an animal. Wrap it carefully round with hobbies and little luxuries; avoid all entanglements; lock it up safe in the casket or coffin of your selfishness. But in that casket- safe, dark, motionless, airless--it will change. It will not be broken; it will become unbreakable, impenetrable, irredeemable.” - C.S. Lewis
“A ship is safe in harbor, but that's not what ships are for.”- William Shedd
Risk is scary. Risk is choosing to make yourself vulnerable! So, why do we do it? Unless you are an adrenaline junky, it seems like a stupid thing to do, right? I say no, and so does Light Gives Heat. LGH chooses to live with risk everyday and they are asking you to do the same! Join their conversation here and read what others are choosing to step out into!
My risk? My risk is putting my thoughts through words out there for others to see. Recently, I've stepped out in other mediums of writing beyond blogging. It's been a vulnerable step for me to take, as some of my thoughts may be rejected. But I was recently asked, "Are you willing to stay quiet to please the 2% rather then blessing the 98%"? And with that question posed, I have chosen to accept whatever may come and speak truth to a world distracted by lies.
What is a risk you face?
By the way, the music/VO for this video was done by Dustin!! If you listen closely, you can hear my voice in the background! ♥, mK
