Vote Chris As Redbook's Hottest Husband

Just one week ago, Redbook Magazine announced their top twenty-five hottest husbands and among the finalists was my brother(in-law), Chris. Rewind just a few days back before the announcement, I received a very excited phone message from my dear sister Erin. Actually, she was soo excited I couldn't make out what she was trying to tell me! I don't blame her, there is much to be thrilled about! I asked Erin to tell us a bit more about the contest and what exactly it's all about...I mean if we are asking you to vote HER husband as hottest, then you probobly want to be a bit more convinced, right? haha.

mK: How did Chris get nominated? 
Erin: I wrote an essay detailing the reasons that I think Chris is an awesome husband. In short, many men declare they will die for their bride, but will he live for her every day? Chris knows what that looks like-- sacrificially living everyday to give his best to me and the kids too. If there is one thing in life where I've felt the most success, its as a wife because he makes me feel so secure in who we are as a team.  

mk: What happens if he wins?
Erin: A fab getaway!  There will be a redbook feature about us and last year the winning couple appearred on The Talk on CBS.

mK: Why do you think he has a good chance at winning? Go ahead, brag a bit! :)
Erin: While it may appear that the contest is all about looks, it really isn't.  I think the world of my husband and while I wouldn't want women who are in poor relationships to feel frustrated by a couple who is thriving, I think that men who are getting it right--loving their wife and kids and putting them ahead of their own desires--should be honored and that we should celebrate those kind of men.  It takes a lot more than a pretty face to be a hot husband.

mk: What does Chris think of it? 
Erin: He's was so excited when we dropped by his office to tell him he'd been selected but he's very low key about it.  He wouldn't dare ask for your vote but he definitely wants to head to a tropical island with me, that's for sure.  

mK: Why do you think others should vote for him?
Erin: Well its really kind of weird asking other women to vote my hubby as hottest husband.  Even stranger to ask guys.   We're just an average couple raising typical kids and plenty of other couples deserve a sweet vacation but since I don't know any of those other couples who are in the running--give your vote to us!!  :)

And as if that wasn't enough convincing, maybe my two cents will seal the deal. Chris is an incredible man, brother, husband to my sister, father, son, youth pastor and so much more. I met Chris back when I was in middle school. I was just an eighth grader when I first heard about him from my sis. Being the first outsider to join the family, there was a lot of annoyances I am sure he had to endure as we all shifted to make room, but he was always so graceful and wise in the way he came into our family and bonded with us all. He not only had to first win over Erin, then my dad, then my mom, then the 4 other kids following behind Erin, but let me say, he did a fantastic job! He was and is the older brother I never had and continues to be a source of encouragement, wisdom and simply...FUN! I had the opportunity to work along side of Chris and Erin in youth ministry a few years back, and I must say that they deserve your vote. Talk about beauty on the inside and out, Chris and Erin pour so much into the youth group as well as their kids. If Chris is voted hottest husband, it will be a very well deserved vacation and a chance to honor a worthy man!
